The Motor Dealers and Repairers Act 2013 provides a statutory warranty of 3 months or 5,000km (whichever occurs first) and applies to vehicles that have traveled less than 160,000 km and are less than 10 years old. Car manufacturers admit to refitting vehicles with faulty Takata airbags
At least five car makers in Australia have recalled their vehicles over dangerous airbags, only to refit them with a similarly faulty product, a recent investigation has found.
